Chama is probably best known for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad running between here and Antonito, CO. It is busy, busy in the summer and with lots of snow, very quiet in the winter. If you are interested in anything train related please visit www.trainstuff.info
I have done many things in my life and many have included art of some kind or another. My wife and I made inlaid jewelry from coins and yes, some were even sold to famous people. Pictured is what many consider one of the most beautiful U.S. coins ever minted-this is the reverse image of a Morgan Eagle Silver Dollar inlaid with jet and you can clearly see the attention to detail. The work was so fine that I actually invented my own very small electric saw. I did the cutting and Barbara did all the inlay work. As far as I know, we were the only two people who ever did this work.
About 14 years ago I decided to try teaching myself photography. I had taken 1,000’s of photos but in 2008 we had a prolonged brownout and my hard drives were lost and irretrievable and I had to restart from scratch. Lesson learned.
Since I live in the Rocky Mountains of the Southwest where there is an abundant variety of indigenous birds & wildlife that has been my focus. (please forgive the pun).
